One big benefit of choosing asphalt is that it is durable and will last you a long time. First, asphalt is a great choice if you live in a cold region as snow and ice melts faster compared to concrete. You will not have to worry about freezing and thawing on a constant basis during the winter months, which can cause damage. You can use salt on the driveway during the winter and the salt will not damage asphalt. 

Asphalt is more flexible than concrete which means it is less likely to have cracks, which can lead to a lot of problems on concrete. This can also save you money, as you will not have to worry about paying a contractor to repair the driveway.

Asphalt is eco-friendly as it is recyclable. Once recycled, asphalt can then be reused and recycled over again. With concrete water runs off the concrete into your yard or into a stream or other area. 

It does not cost as much energy to produce asphalt when compared to concrete. Other waste, such as shingles from a roof or old tires, can be reused in asphalt pavement. This will prevent these things from being taken to a landfill.

A contractor can install an asphalt driveway faster when compared to installing a concrete driveway. This reduces labor charges, which will save you money. You can also start using the driveway much faster. Depending on the size of your driveway, you may be able to use it in a few days. With concrete, it could take a week or longer to use the driveway. 

Depending on where you live and the contractor you hire, you may find that asphalt costs less when compared to concrete. This can add up to a lot of savings for you if you have a large driveway. Because asphalt does not crack as easily, you will not have to worry about paying for repairs.
